Portlets can contain many types of information. Sometimes, they simply hold lists of items a user may want to know. Other times, as in the Facilities example shown below, they contain lists of records in an application requiring attention.
In the image below, the first record, "(601) new new site", is the name of a site (in this case a sample site entered for the purpose of testing the application), located in Appling county (school system 601).
The flags to the right of each record denote different things within each portlet. In Facilities, for example, a yellow flag means that the record is an add (a new site), while a white flag represents a modification of an existing record. The key for these flags is either presented in the portlet itself or in the application's documentation.

To work with portlets, click the link inside the portlet for the task you want to accomplish. For example, in the Facilities portlet, shown above, if you wanted to approve or reject the "new new site" site record, you would click on the "new new site" item in the Sites tab list. The record would display and you then could review and approve (or reject) the item.
To navigate between tabs, click the tab header for the tab you want to view. In the example above, the tabs are Sites, Facilities, and Schools.
To go directly to the application, click the More link near the bottom right of the portlet.
For more options, click the Options link near the top right of the portlet. Click here for more information about portlet options menus.
